Jakarta, June 13, 2016 – Electronic City attended the ‘INDONESIA ORIGINAL BRAND (IOB) 2016’ on June 8, 2016 and received an award in Electronic Retail category. The Electronic Retail category itself is a new category added in the survey process in. IOB 2016 consisted of 250 Indonesian original brands that are choosen by the Indonesian people with the highest IOB Index in each categories. The award was handed over by Mr. Kusnan M Djawahir, Chief Editor of SWA Magazine and Mr. Rohmat Purnadi as Head of Research Business Digest to Mr. Manael Sudarman as the General Manager of Marketing Communication PT Electronic City Indonesia Tbk.
IOB Index is obtained from a survey conducted by SWA Magazine and research firm Business Digest with multistage random sampling method amounted to 40.6% (held on February 1-19, 2016) and booster sampling of 59.4% (February 7-22, 2016) to 5,070 respondents consisted of 28.6% men and 61.4% of women who live in Jakarta area (30.8%), Surabaya (13.9%), Medan, Bandung, Semarang, Makassar with the percentage of each city is 13.8%.
IOB Index surveyed four parameters namely: Satisfaction (satisfaction), Loyalty (loyalty), Advocacy (Advocacy) and Foreign Local Comparison (FLC). The last variable on the list (FLC) measures the level of consumer confidence that local brands perform better than foreign brands. Also, how likely it is for those consumers to continue to buy and recommend that local brands even with the options of other foreign brands.
The election of Electronic City as one of the brands in the IOB 2016 was due to the originality of Electronic City’s brand and the IOB judging criteria of: Established & patented in Indonesia; Already exist minimum of five years; The brand’s performance (top players in the industry); Has clear concept of R&D production and branding. IOB survey results can be viewed about original Indonesian brands which success in the market because has good performance, significant market share, high brand awareness and competitive with foreign brands (global). Based on the survey results, Electronic City reached 7.41 of IOB Index, which is a great achievement amid the fragmentation of the market and this is enough capital to achieve great loyalty.
